Women's Hockey Director
CYHA Travel Team Coordinator
For over 55 years, Concord Youth Hockey has been introducing kids of all ages to the sport of hockey.
We have teams for all ages and abilities, from our "Learn to Skate" program, catered to kids as young as 3 years old who have never skated before, to our Midget and Girls U19 program, for players who are up to their Senior year in High School.
We have over 13 travel teams, with more than 200 players ranging from Mite - Bantams, including teams specifically for Girls.
The mission of Concord Youth Hockey Association is to provide a competitive and enjoyable opportunity to play hockey for children ages 4 to 18.
The Concord Youth Hockey Association gives each interested hockey player a chance to compete at a number of levels with different amounts of commitment and competitiveness, with teams competing at the A, AA, AAA, and Elite level.
Most hockey professionals encourage children to become involved in more than one sport throughout their adolescence to develop more than just one muscle group. With the travel season being so long, Concord Youth Hockey Association supports players being involved in other fall sports such as soccer, field hockey, cross country/track, and football, etc.
Sportsmanship – Foremost of all values is to learn a sense of fair play. Be humble in victory, gracious in defeat. We will foster friendship with teammates and opponents alike.
As a member of the Concord Youth Hockey Association, all individuals including parents, players, coaches, referees, and officials are expected to handle themselves responsibly and courteously and abide by the rules set by USA Hockey Zero Tolerance and Concord Youth Hockey Association
Respect for the Individual – Treat all others as you expect to be treated.
Integrity – We seek to foster honesty and fair play beyond mere strict interpretation of the rules and regulations of the game.
Pursuit of Excellence at the Individual, Team and Organizational Levels – Each member of the organization, whether player, volunteer or staff, should seek to perform each aspect of the game to the highest level of his or her ability.
Enjoyment – It is important for the hockey experience to be fun, satisfying and rewarding for all participants.
Loyalty – We aspire to teach loyalty to the ideals and fellow members of the sport of hockey.
Teamwork – We value the strength of learning to work together. The use of teamwork is reinforced and rewarded by success in the hockey experience.
By holding true to its mission and core values, Concord Youth Hockey Association has provided a memorable experience and fostered a love for hockey for a vast number of youth hockey players, many of whom continue to play as adults, and several are now volunteers in the program today.
Many of our players go on to play at one of the Capital Area high schools.
There have also been many players selected to participate in the USA Hockey National Development Program, and some have gone on to play for elite teams in tournaments around the world.
A number of our players move on to play for college preparatory schools like Avon Old Farms, Brooks School, Kimball Union Academy, Proctor Academy, and St. Paul's School. Others have moved on to Junior hockey programs, and several have played at the college and university level, including UNH, Plymouth State, SNHU, and NEC.
